Nitrogen for use in welding processes
Gas-shielded arc welding is carried out in an artificial atmosphere with nitrogen as the shielding gas. In this regard, the aim is to protect the arc and the molten pool from the oxygen that is found in the natural atmosphere. Unwanted chemical reactions with oxygen that you wish to prevent include corrosion and combustion. High-quality gas protection composed of nitrogen is important, particularly for maintaining the product quality of steel, aluminium, magnesium or titanium. An inadequate protective atmosphere in this regard can lead to colour changes, pores or rust.
In addition to its use as a shielding gas, nitrogen also serves as an auxiliary gas with which the quality of the weld seam and arc stability can be improved.
With our nitrogen generators, we supply high quality solutions for the stationary and mobile production of nitrogen for different applications, including for low volume requirements.
